2/19/2025 3:28:00 PM | Hockey
Miami Hockey returns home this week to face No. 6/7 Denver. The RedHawks (3-23-2, 0-18-0 NCHC) dropped a pair of games last weekend at then-No. 19 Colorado College, including an overtime decision Saturday after rallying to erase a three-goal deficit in the final seven minutes of regulation. The Pioneers (21-8-1, 10-7-1 NCHC) split with then-No. 17 North Dakota last weekend, winning 4-0 Friday and losing 3-1 Saturday.
This week's games in Oxford are set for Friday, Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6:05 p.m. (Both games have been adjusted to start earlier than the previously scheduled 7:05 puck drop times as part of a busy weekend of Miami Athletics events in Oxford.) The contests will air in Ohio on Rock Entertainment Sports Network and stream on NCHC.tv. Saturday night's game will also be simulcast in select television markets nationwide, such as: Las Vegas, Nev.; Nashville, Tenn.; Reno, Nev.; Mankato, Minn.; Huntsville, Ala. Greg Waddell (play-by-play) and Drew Davis (analyst) have the call, with radio coverage streaming on MiamiRedHawks.com Friday and airing on WMOH 1450 AM The Ticket (Hamilton, Ohio) Saturday. Â
Colby Ambrosio (5-12-17) leads Miami in points, sharing the team lead in assists with Johnny Waldron (4-12-16). Ambrosio, Matt Choupani (5-9-14), Ryan Sullivan (5-4-9) and Casper Nassen (5-3-8) have five goals apiece to pace the RedHawks. Bruno Bruveris (2-11-1, 4.17 GAA, .864 save %) and Ethan Dahlmeir (1-8-1, 3.94 GAA, .875 save %) each made a start in net last week for the Red and White.
Michael Feenstra and head coach Anthony Noreen met with the media this week to preview the games against the Pioneers.
