Miami Set for Tuesday Night Road Contest at Wright State

TUESDAY: Miami travels to face off against the Wright State Raiders on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. The Red and White enter this game with a 10-0 record, matching its best start to a season in program history (1917-18 and 1943-44). Miami ranks among the top of the nation in numerous statistical categories heading into this game, which includes being third in the country in effective field goal percentage (0.616), seventh in scoring margin (24.2), seventh in field goal percentage (52.6), eighth in scoring offense (93.2), 16th in three-point percentage (39.6), 20th in threes per game (11.1), 26th in bench points per game (35.00), 28th in turnover margin (4.3) and 32nd in defensive rebounds per game (28.60).
ABOUT WRIGHT STATE: Wright State is currently 5-6, as the Raiders most recently dropped to Marshall 74-76 this past Saturday. Wright State went 15-18 (8-12 Horizon) last year. Head coach Clint Sargent is in his second season with the Raiders. Heading into the 2025-26 season, Wright State was selected to finish seventh overall in the 2025-26 Horizon League Preseason Men's Basketball Poll. Redshirt sophomore guard Solomon Callaghan was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2024-25.
Freshman guard Michael Cooper (15.3/game) and graduate student forward Michael Imariagbe (10.5/game) lead the Raiders with double figures in scoring. Cooper also leads the team in assists (3.0/game). THE SERIES WITH THE RAIDERS: This Tuesday's away contest against the Raiders will be the 41st meeting between the two programs. The RedHawks lead the series 21-19 all-time, as the Red and White are 8-10 when playing in Dayton. Miami is currently on a six-game losing streak to the Raiders, as the RedHawks fell 68-81 at home last season on Nov. 9.

RECENT ACTION: The Miami University men's basketball team held off Eastern Kentucky for a 79-69 win at Baptist Health Arena on Saturday afternoon. Almar Atlason led all players with 19 points, while Brant Byers and Antwone Woolfolk followed closely behind with 15 points each. The Red and White shot 33-of-61 (54.1%) from the field, the fourth consecutive game that Miami has shot over 50% from the field. Miami totaled under 10 turnovers for the second game in a row (third time this season). The RedHawks produced 20 fast break points and 20 points off turnovers.
RANKINGS: The Miami University men's basketball team received four votes in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 men's college basketball poll on Monday, Dec. 15. The Red and White also remained at its highest ranking of the 2025-26 season on the Mid-Major Top 25® Poll, as Collegeinsider announced that the RedHawks still ranked No. 4 overall on Monday, Dec. 8. The RedHawks are just one of seven teams that are still undefeated at the Division I level (Duke, Iowa St., Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Miami and Michigan).
BALANCED ATTACK: The RedHawks are currently shooting 52.6% from the field, 39.6% from the three-point line and 76.4% from the free-throw line. Almar Atlason has been a large part of Miami's success from the charity stripe, as he as knocked down 25-of-27 shots (92.6%), which ranks 19th in the country.Â
GUARD PLAY: Junior Evan Ipsaro (third in MAC/44th nationally) and sophomore Luke Skaljac (fourth in MAC/53rd nationally) each lead the RedHawks in assist turnover ratio. Ipsaro leads the team with a ratio of 3.30, while Skaljac follows closely behind with a ratio of 3.15.
