RedHawks Flock North to Take on Central Michigan This Weekend

THIS WEEKEND: The Red and White continue conference play by heading to Central Michigan for a pair of weekend matches, as the RedHawks face the Chippewas this Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m.Â
ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN: Central Michigan went 24-7 and held a 15-3 record in the MAC in 2024. The Chippewas are currently 9-17 (6-8 MAC), as they are currently on a three-match losing streak. Central Michigan was chosen to finish third in the 2025 MAC Volleyball Coaches Poll. Redshirt senior middle blocker Abby Olin, senior outside hitter Natalia Rejment, and sophomore middle blocker Grace Thomas were named to the 2025 Preseason All-MAC Team.Â
Heading into this week's matches, Central Michigan has numerous players who rank among the top of the MAC statistically. Rejment ranks eighth in the MAC in kills per set (3.09) and points per set (3.54). Brooklyn Conner is second (.348), and Grace Thomas is fifth in hit percentage (.318). Keelyn Muell ranks eighth in assists per set (7.65).Â
SERIES WITH THE CHIPPEWAS: The Red and White are 40-30-1 all-time when taking on the Chippewas. Central Michigan is currently on a five-match win streak versus Miami. The RedHawks last defeated the Chippewas 3-1 at home on Oct. 23, 2021.

NUMBERS WATCH: Gentry Warrick is currently tied for fourth all-time in Miami history with 1.00 career blocks per set. She holds a total of 85 career solo blocks (fifth all-time in Miami history). Warrick also ranks third in the nation in total blocks (136) and 19th in blocks per set (1.40). Warrick currently leads the MAC in both total blocks and blocks per set. The Red and White stand at sixth in the country in team total blocks (245.5) as well.Â
RECENT ACTION: The RedHawks are coming off of a 2-1 week, as they most recently swept Bowling Green over the weekend. Offensively, Molly Creech recorded 3.18 kills per set while maintaining a .265 hitting percentage. Creech led all players with a career-high 24 kills (.333 hit percentage) in a five-set win over the Falcons on Friday night. Senior Hayden Hicks and sophomore Kamryn Utley combined for 106 assists (5.0 assists/set), helping Miami to 134 kills (12.18/set) over three matches. Defensively, senior middle blocker Gentry Warrick amassed 14 blocks (1.27/set), two of which were solo blocks. Senior Lindsay Kahren surpassed 1,000 career digs against Kent State on Oct. 16. Senior Hayden Hicks also reached a career milestone of 2,000 assists against the Ball State Cardinals on Oct. 7.Â

Coyne has put down 2.07 kills per set (third on the team) and 0.79 blocks per set (second on the team).
