BELFAST, Northern Ireland— The Miami University hockey team celebrated Thanksgiving in Belfast Thursday in preparation for the Friendship Four. For the Red and White, the holiday included a visit with local schoolchildren in the morning. Half of the team met with classes of children at a school, while another school group came to W5 (an interactive science and discovery center next door to the arena) to interact with the rest of the RedHawks. After the children shared a presentation about their home country with the team, the players answered questions about life in America, Division I hockey, and more.
Â
Miami practiced at the arena in the afternoon, followed by media availability with head coach Anthony Noreen and multiple student-athletes.
Â
In the evening, the entire travel party enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast at the Hilton Belfast with family, friends and fans.
Miami faces RIT on Friday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. ET in the Friendship Four. The game will be broadcast on FLOHockey.
