RedHawks Hit the Road For Series at RPI
10/8/2025 3:27:00 PM | Hockey
Miami Hockey travels to RPI for the RedHawks' first road trip of the 2025-26 season. Miami comes in at 2-0-0 for the first time since 2018 after a home sweep of Ferris State (by scores of 6-4 and 3-1). The RedHawks swept the Bulldogs for the first time in 15 years and earned their first home sweep over FSU since December 2006. This will be the first regular-season series for the Engineers, who finished 12-21-2 a year ago (7-15-0 in ECAC play). RPI lost 3-0 to then-No. 2 Boston University in a Sunday exhibition.
This week's games at Houston Field House in Troy, N.Y. are set for Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. The contests will stream on ESPN+, with Greg Waddell's audio broadcast available on MiamiRedHawks.com both nights.
Matteo Giampa (2-1-3) and Casper Nassen (1-2-3) each picked up three points in the RedHawks' opening weekend. Justin Stupka shares the team lead in goals with Giampa, while Nassen, Doug Grimes and Vladislav Lukashevich have two assists apiece. 14 different Miami skaters collected a point in the season opener, the first time that's happened since 2010. Matteo Drobac is 2-0-0 between the pipes for the Red and White (2.50 GAA and a .911 save %).
Head coach Anthony Noreen and forward Maximilion Helgeson met with the media this week to preview the games against the Engineers.
