RedHawks Set to Host Kent State Thursday and Friday

THIS WEEK: The Red and White continue conference play at home with two matches versus Kent State. The first match of the weekend will take place on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m., and the second match will happen on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m.Â
ABOUT KENT STATE: Kent State went 2-26 and held a 1-17 record in the MAC in 2024. The Golden Flashes are currently 7-11 after starting conference play 2-5, as they most recently dropped a pair of matches at Eastern Michigan. The Golden Flashes were chosen to finish eighth in the 2025 MAC Volleyball Coaches Poll.
Heading into this week's matches, Kent State has a few players who rank among the top of the MAC statistically. Offensively, Mackenzie NcGuire ranks second in kills per set (3.94/set), while Adalynn Ginley is second (0.332) and Liliana Mechura is ninth (0.289) in hitting percentage. MCguire is also third in points (4.43/set) and Christina Vigil is fifth in assists (9.14/set). Defensively, Ginley sits at fifth overall in blocks (1.12/set)
SERIES WITH THE GOLDEN FLASHES: The Red and White are 70-23 all-time when taking on the Golden Flashes. Miami is currently on a two-match win streak versus Kent State. The RedHawks last defeated the Golden Flashes 3-2 at Kent on Oc. 18, 2024.

CAN YOU DIG IT: Freshmen outside hitter Molly Creech ranks inside the top 10 for digs per set in the MAC. Entering this weekend, Creech holds the ninth spot (3.38 digs/set) in the conference. Redshirt junior libero/defensive specialist Anna McClure stands just outside of the top 10 in digs per set, as she averages 3.18 per set.
FRESHMEN IMPACT: Freshmen Molly Creech, Lauren Coyne, Grace Kreutz and Lindy Radaszewski have seen significant action at the start of the 2025 season. Creech has recorded 2.24 kills per set (second on the team), 3.38 digs per set (first on the team), 0.34 blocks per set (fifth on the team) and 0.14 service aces per set (fifth on the team). Coyne has put down 2.16 kills per set (third on the team) and 0.77 blocks per set (tied for second on the team). Radaszewski is fourth on the team with in service aces per set (0.15) and Kreutz ranks third in service aces per set (0.16).
NUMBERS WATCH: Gentry Warrick is currently tied for fourth all-time in Miami history with 1.00 career blocks per set. She holds a total of 79 career solo blocks (tied for fifth all-time in Miami history). Warrick also ranks third in the nation in total blocks (99) and 17th in blocks per set (1.43). Warrick currently leads the MAC in both total blocks and blocks per set. The Red and White stand at 14th in the country in team total blocks (176.5) as well. Senior Lindsay Kahren has 997 digs in her career heading into the weekend.
