Miami Basketball Welcomes Dan Luers

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head men's basketball coach Travis Steele announced the signing of Dan Luers to his program for the 2024-25 campaign. Luers joins the Red and White after three years at Eastern Illinois University.

DAN LUERS, 6'5, 210, Guard, Lebanon, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick High School/Defiance College/Eastern Illinois University

PRIOR TO MIAMI:

As a junior at EIU, he appeared in all 32 games averaging 6.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists
Played 29 games and recorded 3.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists as a sophomore
Averaged 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in his first season with the Panthers
CSC Academic All-District selection as a junior
Scored a career-high 21 points against SIUE as a freshman
Initially attended Defiance College (NCAA Divison III) where he played in seven games during the 2020-21 COVID-19 shortened season averaging 16.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists

HIGH SCHOOL:

Played in all 25 games as a senior, averaging 9.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals
Second Team All-Greater Catholic League selection as a senior
His team won a Division II sectional championship and finished 14-11 overall in 2019-20
Honor roll student
Played volleyball and earned all-region honors
