Hawks Fall to BG 12-1 in Game Two

Oxford, Ohio— The RedHawks fell to the Falcons of Bowling Green 12-1 in game two of their series on Saturday. Miami was held to just one hit during the contest. Miami moves to 5-8 on the year (0-2 MAC), while BGSU improves to 4-7 (2-0 MAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A pair of walks and a pair of singles for the Falcons put Bowling Green on the board first in the second inning with a score of 2-0.
  • The Falcons struck again in the third inning, walking and then cleaning up with a triple to put themselves up 3-0. A sacrifice fly to center field then extended the lead to four.
  • A Zach MacDonald walk, a Ryan Novak HBP and a David Novak walk loaded the bases with RedHawks. Tré Keels then hit a sacrifice fly to score MacDonald and hand the RedHawks their first run in the bottom of the fourth.
  • Bowling Green put a runner on first with a walk and he advanced to second on a passed ball. A single to center field made the score 5-1.
  • Bowling Green continued their offensive success in the sixth, putting up five runs on five hits, all with two outs. They scored one more run in the seventh to make the score 11-1 at the stretch.
  • Bowling Green scored one final run in the ninth to cap off a 12-1 victory.
