Wright State Edges Miami 6-5

Dayton, Ohio— Miami fell to Wright State Wednesday by a score of 6-5 after a ninth inning walkoff single by the Raiders. The RedHawks' efforts were highlighted by a two-run home run by Tré Keels and Dillon Baker's four hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • During the second inning, Baker doubled to left center with two outs on the first pitch of his bat. Then, with a 2-2 count, Keels homered to left center field, marking his first home run of the season and putting Miami on top 2-0.
  • Wright State also scored during the second inning, hitting a sac fly to put one run on the board.
  • Baker singled to left in the top of the fourth. Keels walked and both advanced one base with a sac fly by Gordon. Ty Batusich then cleared the bases with a two RBI single and putting Miami ahead 4-1.
  • The Raiders hit three home runs over the course of the fifth and sixth innings to claim the lead at 5-4.
  • Evan Appelwick started Miami's offense again in the eighth inning with a walk. Batusich singled, sending Blake Buzzeo, a pinch runner, to second. Zach MacDonald singled to load the bases. A groundout by Ryland Zaborowski then drove in the tying run.
  • Wright State's Boston Smith hit a walkoff RBI single to crown the Raiders' 6-5 victory in the bottom of the ninth.

MIAMI GAME NOTES
  • Baker went 4-for-5 with two runs.
  • Keels went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs.
  • Batusich went 2-for-4 with two RBIs
