THIS WEEKEND: The RedHawks continue conference play by traveling to the University at Buffalo this Friday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. The Red and White follow this up with their second match against the Bulls on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m.
ABOUT BUFFALO: Buffalo holds a 20-5 (10-3 MAC) record, after most recently topping Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. At the head of the program is Scott Smith who is in his fifth season with the Bulls. Katrin Trebichavska currently leads everyone for Buffalo in attacking with 3.43 kills per set (316 total kills), and Many Leigh leads all Bulls in facilitating with 10.38 assists per set (1,007 total). Defensively, Maria Futey has averaged a team-high 3.76 digs per set (365 total digs). Abby Leigh is at the top for the Bulls in blocking with 0.95 blocks per set (92 total). Five total Bulls rank among top MAC statistical leaders per set.
OPPONENT HISTORY: Miami and Buffalo first clashed in 1998. This Friday will mark the 49th meeting between the two teams. The RedHawks are 34-14 all-time against the Bulls. Miami holds a 19-6 home record and 15-8 away record when facing Buffalo. The last time the Red and White defeated the Bulls was on Oct. 14, 2021 in a 3-1 match.

UP NEXT: Tickets are available now for coach Condit's final regular-season home series at Millett Hall, which is set for Nov. 10-11 against Akron. The match on Friday, Nov. 10 begins at 6:30 p.m., with Saturday's first serve slated for 5 p.m. Fans are invited to come celebrate Condit's 40-year career at Miami at the home finale on Saturday, Nov. 11, and a special postgame ceremony is planned. The RedHawks' final match of the regular season is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Bowling Green.
RETIREMENT: Miami University volleyball coach Carolyn Condit announced this week that she will retire after the 2023 season. Condit, who is in her 40th season leading the RedHawks' program and 44th season as a college head coach, has amassed 781 career wins in her legendary career. She is the longest-tenured current Division I head coach in the nation, and holds a 682-549 record at Miami since taking over the program in 1984. Condit has compiled more career wins than any coach in any sport in the history of Miami Athletics. Condit's Miami teams have captured nine regular-season MAC championships and made 13 postseason tournament appearances, including advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 1990, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2007, 2008, 2017 and 2018. Her program has won five MAC Tournament titles and made 12 MAC Tournament title appearances.
YOUTH MOVEMENT: This season sophomore Ellie Hanson has led the offensive charge, as she holds a team best 284.5 total points (252 kills total). She also ranks first on the team in digs (257) and service aces (27). In the first three weeks of play, Hanson made the all-tournament team in the Tiger Brawl, Miami Invitational and Redbird Classic. Sophomore Hayden Hicks notched a career-high 54 assists against Cleveland State in the Miami Invitational and was named to the all-tournament in the Tiger Brawl. She has been a key facilitator for Miami, as she ranks first on the team in assists per set (6.56). Freshman Chelsea Williams is second on the team with 2.63 kills per set (208 kills total). She was named to the all-tournament team in the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational.
MAC LEADER: One RedHawk ranks among MAC statistical leaders. Sophomore Gentry Warrick has flashed on the defensive end for the RedHawks, as she ranks third in blocks per set (0.98). This season, Warrick totaled a career-high 8 blocks against Purdue Fort Wayne.
HICKS EARNS 1,000TH CAREER ASSIST: Hayden Hicks handed out the 1,000th assist of her career in Miami Volleyball's match against Ball State. Hicks finished with two kills and 42 assists between Miami's two matches last week (18 vs. Toledo, 24 vs. BSU) and added seven digs against the Cardinals. The sophomore setter from Frisco, Texas now owns a total of 1,156 assists as a RedHawk.
THE BROOKE JACKSON STORY: Brooke Jackson has always been competitive. It's easy for fans to see that in a Miami Volleyball match. ECLIPSING 750 CAREER WINS: With a 3-0 win versus Buffalo on Jan. 22, 2021, Miami head coach Carolyn Condit posted her 750th career win. Condit owns a 781-629 career record in her 44th season as a head coach. Owning more victories than any coach in any sport in the history of Miami's storied athletic department, known as the Cradle of Coaches, Condit holds a 682-549 record and is in her 40th season in charge of the Red and White. Condit is the only volleyball coach in the history of the Mid-American Conference to win more than 300 league matches, holding a conference mark of 376-259.
GREAT RETURNS: Of its 15-player roster, Miami returns 12 RedHawks from the 2022 roster. Seniors Maggie McCrary and Taylor Nomanson lead a solid veteran group. They are joined by juniors Caroline Cermack, Brooke Cirigliano, Margo Lawson and Gracie Norris. The sophomore class is comprised of Ellie Hanson, Hayden Hicks, Emily Morgan and Gentry Warrick. Also returning is redshirt-sophomore Brooke Jackson and redshirt-freshman Amyah Cooper.
FRESH FACES: Miami boasts three newcomers on its 2023 roster, who will look to make their impact this season. The talented group of newcomers are Raegan Lantz, Breannah Peterson and Chelsea Williams.
