Brand Named All-American

TUCSON, Ariz.-- Miami senior pitcher Jonathan Brand was named a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, the publication announced this week. The All-American teams were chosen by performances through the regular season and selected by the Collegiate Baseball staff.

Brand, a native of Columbus, Ga., finished the 2022 campaign with an 8-2 record and a sparkling 1.40 ERA. He ranked third in the country in ERA and has the lowest ERA of any starting pitcher on the Collegiate Baseball list of All-Americans.

Brand allowed one earned run or less in 11 of his 13 appearances, recording 86 strikeouts in 77.1 innings pitched. He had double-digit strikeouts in three different outings. Brand pitched two complete games, including one shutout, and received first-team All-MAC recognition for his efforts.
