HOW IT HAPPENED
- 10:47 1st (Canisius 1-0) | Although the RedHawks controlled play in the opening minutes, the Golden Griffins got on the scoreboard first with a power-play tally. Canisius' Ryan Miotto sent a pass across the width of the rink and received a return feed from Randy Hernandez near the goalpost. Miotto converted the give-and-go-play to put the home team ahead 1-0, with Cooper Haar also earning credit for an assist.
- 4:08 2nd (Miami 1-1) | Miami found an equalizer early in the second period, also on the power play. Barbolini skated the puck behind the Canisius net, connecting with Fletcher on the right wing. Fletcher's pass set up Axel Kumlin for a one-time blast that Ryan Savage redirected in midair to make it 1-1.
- 8:37 2nd (Miami 2-1) | The RedHawks took their first lead while killing off a major penalty. Fletcher intercepted a pass at center ice and finished a shorthanded breakaway chance with a beautiful move to beat Canisius goaltender John Hawthorne.
- 0:43 3rd (Miami 3-1) | Miami got off to an excellent start in the final frame with a goal in the first minute. Jack Clement's shot from the blue line was deflected to Cassetti on the left side of the net. He poked it across the crease for Barbolini to knock home near the opposite goalpost.
- 10:14 3rd (Miami 4-1) | The RedHawks broke the game open midway through the third period. Nick Donato held the puck in the attacking zone for John Waldron to skate in close with some nifty stickhandling and set up Artur Turansky. Turansky got two shots off and finished the second one for a 4-1 lead.
- 11:19 3rd (Miami 5-1) | Miami struck again just over a minute later. Max Dukovac poked the puck free after it was tied up along the boards and Barbolini promptly sent it over to Cassetti. His backhand goal gave the Red and White a four-goal cushion.
- 12:49 3rd (Canisius 5-2) | The Golden Griffins responded with a goal of their own 90 seconds later. Miami wasn't able to completely clear the zone, and Canisius got a flurry of shots off in close, leading to Cody Schiavon's goal off assists from Matt Vermaeten and Hunter Andrew.
- 19:45 3rd (Canisius 5-3) | The home team concluded the scoring in the final seconds, as Jackson Decker slipped a puck past Persson off feeds from Nick Bowman and Tyrell Buckley.
