For the second consecutive season, former RedHawk, Blake Coleman helped the Tampa Bay Lightning capture the Stanley Cup. Coleman is one of five Miami players to lift the most coveted trophy in sports.
Coleman, Dan Boyle (2004), Kevyn Adams (2006), Alec Martinez (2012 and 2014) and Jeff Zatkoff (2016) all have etched their name on the Stanley Cup.
In four years in Oxford, Coleman helped the RedHawks reach the NCAA Tournament three times and win a pair of conference titles in the 2012-13 regular season Central Collegiate Hockey Association crown and the 2015 National Collegiate Hockey Conference's Frozen Faceoff. He amassed 107 points on 60 goals and 47 assists with 39 of his tallies coming in his final two seasons. Coleman was the RedHawks' catalyst to their Frozen Faceoff title, earning MVP honors for the tournament after posting 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in five NCHC Tournament contests.
