Miami Hockey Announces Addition of Layne Loomer

OXFORD, Ohio— Miami Hockey head coach Anthony Noreen announced today that Layne Loomer will join the RedHawks' program ahead of the 2026-27 season. Loomer, a forward from Lethbridge, Alberta, spent last season with Lincoln in the USHL.

PRIOR TO MIAMI

Piled up 72 points (30-42-72) in 59 games for Lincoln Stars in 2025-26 and finished third in USHL in scoring
Added 12 points (5-7-12) in eight playoff games for Lincoln
Served as Stars' assistant captain and was a finalist for USHL's Gaudreau Award
Produced 40 points (12-28-40) in 2024-25 campaign for Lincoln
Spent 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons with Blackfalds Bulldogs (AJHL) and was an assistant captain
Collected 47 points in back-to-back seasons with Blackfalds
Won gold medal with Canada West at World Junior A Challenge in 2023
Named to AJHL (South) All-Rookie Team in 2022-23 season
