LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Miami University softball team split a pair of games on Sunday afternoon. The RedHawks (7-6) seized a 4-0 win at Louisville (6-7) in the second game of the day after being clipped 5-4 by DePaul (6-6) in a neutral-site game at Louisville.

DePaul opened up a 5-0 lead, scoring two runs in the first and third innings and another run in the fourth inning.
A two-run double by senior Jada Dotson in the fourth inning, plated sophomore Kate Kobayashi and junior Adriana Barlow for Miami's first runs of the game.
Miami pulled within one, 5-4, when Kobayashi tripled to right center to score junior Allie Cummins and senior Mackenzie Moore, but that was as close as the RedHawks would get.
Dotson went 2-for-3 at the plate for the RedHawks with two RBI, while Moore was 2-for-4 with a run.

Miami got on the board quickly. With two on in the top of the first, Barlow stepped to the plate and blasted a three-run home run to left field, scoring Cummins and freshman Karlee Juarez.
The RedHawks tacked on another run in the top of the sixth when Barlow doubled to left center, which scored Cummins, who led off the inning with a double to right center.
Barlow led Miami at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 4 RBI.
Senior Courtney Vierstra picked up the win in the circle for the RedHawks, moving to 4-2 on the season. She pitched 7.0 innings and gave up just four hits while striking out 12 Cardinal batters and walking just one.

Miami is idle until it opens Mid-American Conference play, hosting Western Michigan in a four-game series March 19-21. The first game of the series is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday, March. 19.
