OXFORD, Ohio— In a tune-up for the 2021-22 season, Miami University men's basketball hosts Capital at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 for an exhibition game. The game is free and open to the public, and parking for the game is free in the Millett Hall West Lot!
Miami returns 12 players, including all five starters, from a season ago as the RedHawks posted their first winning season since 2009 and earned a berth in the eight-team MAC Tournament. RedHawk returns account for 99 percent of Miami's scoring and 98 percent of its rebounding from a season ago.
Among the RedHawks' robust list of returners is fifth-year senior forward Dalonte Brown, who became the 37th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points, senior guard Mekhi Lairy, who has played in every game during his Miami career and is closing in on 1,000 career points, and Dae Dae Grant, who earned All-MAC honors last season and was selected to the preseason All-MAC Second Team this year. The trio started all 23 games for the RedHawks last season. In addition to returning a strong nucleus of players, Miami adds five talented newcomers to its roster for the 2021-22 campaign.
The RedHawks travel to Georgia Tech for a 7:30 p.m. game on Tuesday, Nov. 9 to open the season and host Lamar in their home-opener at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13.
Season, single-game (except the December 1 game versus Cincinnati), mini-plans (which include the December 1 game versus Cincinnati) and group tickets are on sale now!
