
Miami Continues Home Stretch Hosting Heidelberg Saturday

SATURDAY'S GAME: Miami rides a three-game win streak to start the season into Saturday's game and is coming off a wire-to-wire 80-65 win against Stetson Wednesday night. The RedHawks are amidst a four-game home stretch as they host Heidelberg University at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20.
ABOUT HEIDELBERG: The Student Princes enter the weekend 3-0 after a 92-68 victory over Bluffton Wednesday. Four Heidelberg players are averaging double figures so far this season, led by Dylan Woods (13.7 ppg). Martone Cole is averaging 11.3 points and a team-high six rebounds per game.
THE SERIES WITH THE STUDENT PRINCES: Saturday is the fifth meeting between Miami and Heidelberg, all at Millett Hall. The RedHawks lead the all-time series 4-0. The teams last met on Nov. 25, 1994, a 93-69 win for Miami.

Grant had 13 points after halftime at Georgia Tech, 18 by intermission vs. Lamar, and 16 in the final period vs. Stetson. Overall, Grant is scoring a team-best 17.7 ppg this season, one of four RedHawks averaging double figures.
CHART CLIMBER: Senior forward Dalonte Brown became the 37th member of Miami's 1,000 Point Club last season and enters Miami's next game with 1,270 points to rank 18th all time. He is seven points away from moving into 17th on the list and 25 points from the No. 16 spot. Brown cracked Miami's career top-10 list for games played and is five appearances away from tying the all-time record of 126. He also has made 114 starts to rank fifth all-time and is four away from Ron Harper's record of 118 career starts.
PRECIOUS MOMENTS: Senior forward Precious Ayah matched his scoring career high in the first half alone Wednesday, pouring in 12 of his 18 points before intermission. Ayah is averaging 11.7 points through three games this year, and is also closing in on the century mark for games played (96 entering Saturday).
1,000 POINT WATCH: Entering the RedHawks' next game with 802 career points, senior guard Mekhi Lairy could become the 38th member of the 1,000 Point Club. Lairy is averaging 15.3 ppg to start the season and would reach the milestone in January at his current pace.
RAINING THREES: Miami poured on the triples in its 104-75 win against Lamar last week, draining 12 in the first half on the way to a 17-trey effort against the Cardinals, which ties for second on the RedHawks' single-game list. MU shot 60.0 percent from long range in the opening half and 53.1 percent for the game.
GRANT NAMED PRESEASON ALL-MAC: Coming off a season where he was selected to the All-MAC Third Team, junior guard Dae Dae Grant was selected as a Preseason Second-Team All-MAC honoree in 2021-22.

Last year, MU captured a 69-64 win at Northern Illinois (Feb. 20), a 96-54 win at Central Michigan (Feb. 23), a 74-66 win at Western Michigan (Feb. 25) and an 84-79 overtime win at Bowling Green on Mar. 2 last season. It was the first time since 2008-09 Miami had won four-straight road games. The RedHawks were 5-6 in road contests last season.
