The RedHawks head to the Midwestern Championships on Saturday.
OXFORD, Ohio – After putting forth a strong first half of the season, Miami University's collegiate synchronized skating team gets on the ice for its first competition since Dec. 8 at the Midwestern Championships this weekend.
The RedHawks skate on Saturday, with competition getting underway at around 5:10 p.m.
Miami's last competition was a dynamic first-place showing at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic in Ann Arbor, Mich. In its second competition of the season, MU added nearly 10 points to its free skate score, compiling a 98.73 to wrap up the top spot on the podium. The Red & White's Me and My Girls themed free skate earned a 49.33 element score and a 50.40 component score. The total score would have been MU's second highest of the season a year ago, topped only by its national championship winning performance.
