Miami finished a season-best scoring output across the board to take second in Ann Arbor.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Miami University's senior synchronized skating team closed out its top scoring weekend of the season at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic on Saturday.
Performing its Rise Up themed free skate, the RedHawks battled through one fall and scored a season-best 116.75. That output was the second best of the evening, behind only the Skyliners' 135.54 as they topped both the Crystallettes' 116.52 and Adrian's 113.54. For the weekend, the RedHawks posted a total score of 181.49 to place second in the final standings.
Combined with their short program from Friday night, the RedHawks' posted across the board scoring highs as they enter their break before the international portion of their schedule next month. MU's total score was nearly 20 points beyond its output last month in Anaheim.
Miami's collegiate team gets the call on Sunday as the RedHawks conclude their stint at the Dr. Porter Classic. The team's Me and My Girls free skate competition starts at 12:35 p.m.
