RedHawks Ready for Dr. Porter Classic

Miami faces a deep field at the annual Dr. Porter Classic.
OXFORD, Ohio – The first half of the season's culmination is upon Miami Synchronized Skating as it heads to the Dr. Richard Porter Classic this weekend.
This weekend's competition runs from Friday through Sunday and features both the RedHawks' senior and collegiate programs.
Competition begins Friday with the senior team performing its Amazing Grace short program, a competition that starts at 7:32 p.m. The RedHawks put up scores of 57.09 and 56.67 in their first two outings of the year, the Diamond Classic and Fall Synchronized Classic.
The senior team concludes their slate of the competition with the free skate on Saturday, which is slated for 8:45 p.m. Miami finished second in its Rise Up Themed long program in its first two competitions, posting a high score of 105.02 at the Fall Synchronized Classic.
Sunday's schedule has the collegiate team compete for the first time since winning the Diamond Classic with a debut score of 89 in its Me and My Girls themed free skate. That score was over 15 points higher than the defending national champions opened up with a year ago.
The RedHawks' senior team will compete against Adrian College along with the Crystallettes and Skyliners club programs. Miami's collegiate team takes on Michigan State, Trine, Western Michigan, Adrian, Mirror Images, Delaware, Boston University and Michigan.
