Senior Begins Porter Classic with Season Best

The RedHawks scored a 64.79 and sit second in the standings after day one.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A season-best short program gave Miami's senior synchronized skating team a boost as it ended day one of the Dr. Richard Porter Classic on Friday.
Looking to build some momentum in its largest competition to date, the RedHawks burst out with a dynamic short program. Their Amazing Grace routine was clean from start to finish and dazzled the judges to the tune of a 64.74 score. MU notched a 34.74 element score while earning a 30.0 component score. That marked a season best and put it second to the Skyliners' 71.16 after day one. The Crystallettes (56.92) are in third followed by Adrian (48.09)
Miami's senior team wraps up its competition with the free skate on Saturday. That event begins at around 8:45 p.m.
