BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Finishing up its second straight weekend at Indiana, the Miami University track and field team competed Saturday at day two of the IU Relays.
The best performance of the day came from the women's 4x400 team who took the victory in a field that include the 'A' teams from the likes of Wisconsin and the host Indiana, among others. Kalliopi Kountouri, Sarah Bruns, Faith Baxter, and Olivia Bechtel teamed up to run a 3:44.16 to earn the win. Miami got another first place finish over in the men's 60m hurdles in the form of Aaron Muresan, who won the same event at Indiana last week. Muresan ran an 8.15 in the finals to cruise to his second straight win in the event after taking first in the prelims yesterday.
Saturday also saw the conclusion of the men's heptathlon. On the back of a first and second in two of the events yesterday Ben Artrip closed out the weekend with a strong fourth-place overall. He was joined in the heptathlon top five by Nick Bosley, who put on a great Saturday performance with a first-place in the 1000m and a top-three spot in the pole vault.
Elsewhere, Hannah Falcione (triple jump) and Emily Fletchall (pole vault) each took top tens in women's field events. Mallory Harr finished in the top eight in the finals of the 60m hurdles while Emma Mashburn, Sarah Starrett, and Emma Bryant all put on strong performance in the day's distance races.
