NASSAU, Bahamas – The Miami University men's basketball team (2-3) fell to Pepperdine by an 86-80 margin on Sunday to end the Bahamas Showcase.

Mekhi Lairy,
Darrian Ringo and
Nike Sibande all put up double-digit figures with Sibande leading the way with 17 points.
Miami jumped to an early 10-6 lead on a three-point play from Ringo.
Abdoulaye Harouna and
Milos Jovic extended the RedHawks' lead to 18-10 at the second media timeout with 11:19 to play in the first half. Following the media timeout, Pepperdine put together a 10-0 run to tie the game at 20.
The RedHawks and Waves traded baskets and the lead before Brown gave Miami a 29-25 lead with 5:36 remaining in the first half by sinking back-to-back buckets, one being from behind the arc. Lairy made two free throws and completed a three-point play to extend the RedHawks' lead to 34-25, reaching 10 points well before the end of the first half.
With 2:27 left to play in the first half, Pepperdine took a timeout as Miami held a 39-33 lead. Ringo scored the next five points to reach double digits. The RedHawks took a 46-33 lead into the locker room after finishing the first half on a 7-0 run.
Sibande started the second half with a layup before Brown reached double digits with a three-pointer to give the Red and White an 18-point lead, its largest of the day. Miami led by a 51-33 margin.
With 15:37 remaining in the game, the RedHawks led 60-44. Sibande reached double digits with a shot from behind the arc. Brown then sunk three free throws to increase Miami's lead to 15 points once again, a 65-50 lead.
Pepperdine put together an 11-0 run midway through the second half before Sibande broke Miami's scoring drought with a three-pointer. The Waves scored the next five points to cut the RedHawks' lead to just five points, 68-63.
Miami clung to a small 73-69 lead as the teams traded chances before Pepperdine took a 74-73 lead with four minutes to play. Ringo evened the game again at 76 with a shot from behind the arc with 2:40 remaining.
The RedHawks took an 80-78 lead before the Waves went on an 8-0 run in the last 1:44 to win the game by an 86-80 margin.
Miami scored 24 points off the bench and 26 points in the paint, playing with the lead for over 33 minutes of play.
The Red and White host Army on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.
