Czarnik Earns AHL All-Rookie Honors

OXFORD, Ohio - Former Miami University hockey captain Austin Czarnik's torrid debut season in the American Hockey League has earned him a place on the league's All-Rookie Team.
In his first full season with the Providence Bruins, Czarnik is tied for ninth in the league with 56 points, a figure that is tied for the lead among rookie skaters. The Washington, Mich., native's 40 assists are tied for fifth in the entire league and he also sports a stellar +15 rating on the ice.
Czarnik served as Miami's team captain during the final two of his four seasons with the Red and White. He finished fifth in program history with 169 points while his 123 career assists rank second in school annals. Czarnik was also the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's Player of the Year following the 2012-13 campaign and is the only Miami player to earn All-America honors three times.
Other former Miami standouts enjoying solid AHL seasons are former Hobey Baker winner Andy Miele, who sits seventh in the league with 58 points (18g, 40a) along with Czarnik's former teammate Riley Barber, who is 18th in the league (third among rookies) with 52 points (24g, 28a).
