The RedHawks never trailed in the game and advanced to the quarterfinals with the 49-47 win against the Cardinals. (Recap) Sophomore guard Dion Wade tied a career high with 16 points, but it was not enough as the RedHawks had their season end with a 94-81 loss to No. 3 seed and eventual tournament champion Buffalo in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday. (Recap) Earlier in the week, Washington and senior guard Geovonie McKnight were named to the Honorable Mention All-MAC Team. (Release) This Week: Season concluded.

Last Week: Miami led at halftime, but a 20-0 run in the third quarter proved to be the difference as the fifth seeded Akron Zips won the MAC Tournament First-Round game, 66-54. Leah Purvis led the RedHawks with 18 points. (Recap) This Week: The season is complete.
Hockey
Last Week: For the second-straight week, Miami headed north to Minnesota Duluth and unfortunately the results were no better as its season ended in the NCHC Playoffs. Things looked good for the RedHawks to grab their first win over the Bulldogs on Friday night as a Zach LaValle goal in the first period tied the score at 1-1 and Miami erupted for three goals in the second period. Ryan Siroky's second goal of the year put MU on top 2-1 and after allowing the tying goal on the power play, Anthony Louis put the Red and White back in front 18 seconds later midway through the frame. Louie Belpedio later struck for a power play goal to put Miami ahead 4-2 after two periods. However, UMD countered with a three goal third period to take a 5-4 lead with 7:31 to play as MU suffered a stunning defeat. (Recap) Special teams provided disastrous results for Miami in Saturday's finale as Minnesota Duluth scored its first of two shorthanded goals just 1:31 into the contest to grab a 1-0 lead early on. UMD also netted a power play goal and grabbed a 3-0 lead after two periods. A goal by Kevin Morris with 2:48 left in regulation gave Miami a bit of a spark, but that was as close as it got in a season-ended 3-1 loss. (Recap) This Week: Season concluded.

(Recap) The weekend slate featured a three-game series at Winthrop. A quick start in game one for the Eagles helped power them past the RedHawks, 18-6, on Friday. With inclement weather on the horizon for Sunday, the two teams agreed to a doubleheader on Saturday. The first game of the back-to-back series saw Miami fall into an early 7-0 hole, rallying to within two but ultimately falling, 7-5. The series finale and latter half of the doubleheader was a pitcher's duel for a good portion of the game. The battle saw neither team score until the eighth inning when both teams were able to put one run on the board. The Red & White collected the go-ahead runs in the top of the tenth, striking four times to take a 5-1 lead. The Eagles could not muster a response and Miami grabbed the victory (Doubleheader Recap).
