Kiefer Sherwood's power play goal staked MU off to a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play and then the team took off in the final 40 minutes. Karch Bachman's first of two goals started a four-goal onslaught in the second period as the Red and White cruised to an 8-1 victory over the Warriors. Last Week: As has been their m.o. this season, the RedHawks (5-5-1, 2-1-1 MAC) played their fifth and sixth overtime matches of the season this weekend. On Friday night, Miami battled the elements to hold the MAC's highest scoring team, Central Michigan, scoreless through 100 minutes, but Alexis Pelafas scored in the 106th minute to down Miami 1-0 for its first MAC loss (RECAP). Senior captain Dana Miller answered with her first-collegiate goal in the 78th minute when she converted Stephanie Dillon's corner kick service at the far post. With the contest appearing headed for a draw, junior Maggie Scott won a footrace to a loose ball to net her first goal in nearly two years with 30 seconds left to deliver the Red and White a 3-2 double overtime victory. Three of Miami's five wins this season have come in overtime (RECAP).
