Miami Hockey Postgame Notes
-Senior goalie Cody Reichard recorded the win, stopping 6-of-7 shots. Classmate Connor Knapp replaced Reichard midway through the second period and stopped all five shots he faced.
-Freshman center Blake Coleman tallied his first unofficial point as a RedHawk with an assist on senior Matt Tomassoni's power play goal at the 4:05 mark of the second period.
-Freshman Alex Wideman also tallied his first unofficial point as a RedHawk after setting up an Alden Hirschfeld power play goal in the second period. Alex's brother, senior Chris Wideman, also assisted on the goal at 5:14 of the second period.
-Miami's power play continued its success from last season, tallying two power play goals on five attempts.
-Senior co-captain Alden Hirschfeld scored two goals while senior defenseman Will Weber had an assist in their first game as Miami's co-captains.
