OXFORD, Ohio--An Indiana goal with under three minutes to play handed Miami University's field hockey its first loss of the season, 2-1 to the Hoosiers. The RedHawks, facing Indiana in their home opener, drop to 5-1 on the season, while the Hoosiers moves to 3-2.

Indiana struck first, scoring at 23:09 when Morgan Fleetwood tipped in a pass from the right side from Kelsey Kiper to take a 1-0 lead.

Miami evened the score at 50:39 when Emily Gruesser stole a pass and blasted it in to collect the unassisted goal and tie the game, 1-1.

The Hoosiers inched out the game as Shareyna Chang got her shot past the Miami keeper on a penalty corner at 67:19. Brooke Borneman was credited with the Indiana assist.

Miami returns to action on Sunday when the RedHawks travel to Northwestern for a 1 p.m. (EDT) contest.
