Miami vs. Western Michigan - 2-14-09

The 1999 Miami Sweet 16 basketball team was honored before the game.

The 2008 class of the Miami Athletic Hall of Fame was inducted at halftime. The 2009 class includes Devin Davis (Basketball), Wally Szczerbiak (Basketball), Ben Bernau (Baseball), Marteen van den Berg (Golf), Kelly Davis (Swimming), Gaby Downey (Basketball), and Bill Gunlock (Football).

The game featured the number two (MU's Michael Bramos, 17.3ppg) and number three (WMU's David Kool 17.2 ppg) scorers in the Mid-American Conference. Both players were held scoreless in the first half. Bramos finished the game with 12 points on 3-for- 13 shooting while Kool tallied 8 points on 0-for-11 shooting from the field (8-for-8 from the line).

It was the 11th straight game Bramos scored in double figures and his 21st double digit scoring game of the season.

It was the second time this season Kool was held in single digits and the first time he was held without a field goal.

Tyler Dierkers led Miami in scoring for the second time this season. (1-31 @ E. Michigan)

Dierkers recorded four steals for the second straight game. It ties his career-high which he has done three other times.

Antonio Ballard had three steals which sets his career high.

Adam Fletcher tied a career high for rebounds with eight. It is the third time in the last five games he has recorded eight boards.

Miami has beaten Western Michigan 14 straight times against Millett Hall.

The game was attendance was 3986. It was the highest attended game at Millett Hall this season.
