The 2008 class of the Miami Athletic Hall of Fame was inducted at halftime. The 2009 class includes Devin Davis (Basketball), Wally Szczerbiak (Basketball), Ben Bernau (Baseball), Marteen van den Berg (Golf), Kelly Davis (Swimming), Gaby Downey (Basketball), and Bill Gunlock (Football).
The game featured the number two (MU's Michael Bramos, 17.3ppg) and number three (WMU's David Kool 17.2 ppg) scorers in the Mid-American Conference.
