Eagles Take RedHawks in Three Games

YPSILANTI, Mich.-Miami University's volleyball team lost a three-game match at Eastern Michigan (13-1; 2-0 Mid-American Conference) on Saturday (28-30, 27-30, 19-30) to drop to 5-9 overall and 0-2 in league action.

The RedHawks came within inches of stopping the Eagles in the first two games, but EMU prevailed in three games to extend its win streak to 13 matches.

Senior outside hitter Kelly McCullough (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) paced the RedHawks with a team-best 10 kills and five blocks. She also notched a career-high 11 assists and tallied one service ace. Senior middle hitter Jennifer Eaton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) notched a match-best three service aces and also recorded four blocks for the Red and White, while senior outside hitter Erika Eagan (Bloomington, Ill./Tri-Valley) produced a match-high 19 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Tara Buroker (Bluffton, Ohio/Bluffton) tallied seven kills and 15 digs for Miami.

The RedHawks have the week off before rounding out its five-week stretch of road matches with just one home contest at Ohio and Marshall next Friday and Saturday, respectively.
