Southern Indiana fought its way back into the set and eventually claimed a 16-13 lead. The RedHawks evened things up at 16 apiece after two attack errors and a Hayden Hicks service ace. The Screaming Eagles went on to take the second set 25-22.

A combination of kills from Coyne, Creech and Lydia Michelin gave Miami an 18-17 advantage. The Screaming Eagles looked to end the set after leading 23-22, but back-to-back kills from Chelsea Williams and an attack error secured a 25-23 third-set victory.
