Miami Dominates Eastern Michigan, 72-56

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) -Doug Davis scored 20 points and was 3-for-5 in 3-point shooting to lead Miami to a 72-56 victory over Eastern Michigan in the Mid-American Conference on Wednesday.
Eastern Michigan (5-12, 1-5 MAC) had its last lead of the game at 9-8 with 14:03 left to play in the first half when Markus Austin fouled Juby Johnson. Johnson made both of his free throws to put Miami (7-9, 4-1) in the lead. The RedHawks never looked back.
Miami only led 31-27 at the half, but had pushed its lead to as much as 21 points with only 1:29 left to play in the game.
Johnson, Danny Horace and Chester Mason scored 10 points each for Miami. Mason also led his team in rebounds with nine.
Steve Pettyjohn and Ricky Cottrill led scoring for Eastern Michigan with 17 points each. They were the only players for Eastern Michigan in double figures. Pettyjohn led the game in rebounds with 11.
In the second half, Miami made 75 percent of its free throws, compared with 64 percent by Eastern Michigan.
