COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame announced that Miami University Head Coach Travis Steele will be honored with the "A Season to Remember Award" at the upcoming enshrinement ceremony on Saturday, June 6, 2026. This prestigious award recognizes Miami's historic 32–2 season, which was capped by a perfect 31-0 regular season, tying the all-time MAC conference record.
The ceremony will feature Paul Keels, the celebrated "Voice of the Buckeyes" and event emcee, introducing Coach Steele. The award presentation will be made by Miami basketball legends Jim Hamilton and NBA great Wayne Embry. Both Hamilton and Embry were college roommates and part of the historic 1958 team, which was the first MAC team to go undefeated in the conference with a 12-0 record. That 1958 title contributed to a three-year streak (1956-57, 1957-58, 1958-59) where Miami won or shared the MAC Championship.
