RedHawks Top Central Michigan in Four Games

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Led by sophomore middle hitter Susan Poll's 15 kills and .636 hitting percentage, Miami University's volleyball team evened its Mid-American Conference record to 2-2, upending Central Michigan 29-31, 34-32, 30-19 and 30-24.

Miami led midway through the first game, but fell to the Chippewas 29-31. The RedHawks, however, rebounded to pull out a crucial 34-32 win in the second stanza. Miami controlled the third and fourth games (30-29 and 30-24) to win the match 3-1.

Junior outside hitter Erika Eagan also notched 15 kills and a match-best 21 digs. This is Eagan's ninth match in double figures for digs for the RedHawks this season. In addition to her 21 digs, Eagan collected four blocks. Junior middle hitter Jennifer Eaton 12 kills and six blocks (two solo, four assist) for the RedHawks, while senior defensive specialist Robyn Byrnes added 11 digs.

As a team, Miami hit .322 for the match, including two games above .400, and outblocked the Chippewas 11.0 to 6.0

Miami travels to defending MAC Champion Western Michigan tomorrow for a 7 p.m. battle.
