This past weekend, Leahy helped lead the RedHawks to a weekend sweep of No. 3 Michigan State by contributing on each of Miami's six goals, including three goals and three assists. On Friday night, he posted a goal and two assists, including a helper on the game-winning goal. Saturday night, he set up Jardine on the game's first goal and then added a short-handed goal and power-play goal to put the game out of reach. In his last three games vs. No. 5 Michigan and Michigan State, Leahy has strung together multiple-point games and has a total of seven in Miami's first 13 games.
Jardine, a linemate of Leahy's, earned CCHA Rookie of the Week, posting five points on two goals and three assists in the two contests. Jardine, who had just three points coming into the weekend, posted the first goal each night vs. the Spartans. His eight points (4-4-8) this season rank fifth overall on the team and are tied for sixth in the CCHA in rookie scoring.
Miami, 7-4-2 overall and 4-3-2 in the CCHA, plays its last home game before New Year's next Friday, December 3 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Ohio State at Goggin Ice Arena. Miami will be looking to extend its 17-game home unbeaten streak vs. the Buckeyes that dates back to January 18, 1991. Miami then travels to Ohio State on Sunday, December 5 at 2:05 p.m. for their first game in the new Value City Arena.
