High School: Earned four letters in both cross country and track under coach Frank Russo, serving as the cross country team captain his final two years and a track team captain as a senior ... helped lead team to Ohio state championships in cross country in 2005 and 2006 ... team finished 15th in the country ... top 5K time was 16:12 ... in track, finished 10th in the state in the 1600m as a junior and 14th as a senior ... top mile time (1600m) was 4:19 and top 800m time was 1:57 ... also played hockey two years at LaSalle High School.
