CLEVELAND, Ohio– Miami's Justina Intzes was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 26, her third time receiving the honor this season, the conference announced Tuesday. The announcement came after Intzes put up a hat trick against Central Michigan in a 7-0 win to round out regular-season play. The sophomore also generated a number of corners and was a key part of the midfield, which helped Miami take an 11-2 advantage on corners and a 24-2 advantage on shots.
Intzes's three goals brought her season total to 15, which leads the team and ranks third in the MAC. Her first goal was the game-winner, which puts her at a team-leading five game-winning goals. She also ranks tenth nationally in goals per game and 13th in points per game.
Intzes and the RedHawks have earned a bye in this week's MAC Championship and will face the winner of No. 3 James Madison and No. 6 Ohio this Thursday, Nov. 5 at the Miami Field Hockey Complex for a chance to appear in their ninth-straight MAC title game.
