Chip Rogers

Chip Rogers enters his 15th year with the Miami field hockey program. He spent the first 12 years as an assistant coach before being promoted to Associate Head Coach prior to the 2023 season. Ge was also named Chair of USA Field Hockey Board of Directors in 2025.

Over the past 14 years Miami is 171-124 overall and 77-18 in Mid-American Conference play. The RedHawks have captured 10 regular season and nine tournament championships during that span, including eight-straight regular season championships. Miami has also won every MAC Tournament, dating back to 2017.
 
The RedHawks have also seen major NCAA accomplishments under Rogers. Miami has advanced to 10 NCAA Tournaments, picking up a win versus No. 22 Boston University in 2018. The RedHawks also hosted its first NCAA Tournament game in 2021, beating Maine.

Rogers is one of the foremost authorities on field hockey history in the United States. He maintained all statistics and records for Divisions I, II and III from 1997-2008 until the NCAA took over and is the author of the statistics manual. Rogers is the administrator of the Fieldhockeycorner.com website, which has been used by coaches, players and fans as a resource for schedules, results, rankings, statistics and polls for all three divisions of NCAA field hockey for the past 14 years. 
 
A long-time contributor to the sport, Rogers has served on multiple committees for the sport both nationally and internationally, including chairing the Grow The Game Committee, the Adult Task Force, and the Succeed Internationally Task Force for USA Field Hockey. He also helped navigate the transition to a new communications format for USA Field Hockey with the launch of FH Life and has served as editor of the magazine. In addition, he is currently the Vice-Chair of the USA Field Hockey Board of Directors. 
 
As a passionate advocate for the sport, Rogers is a national consultant for schools adding field hockey, having helped over a dozen schools successfully reinstate or add the sport to their athletic departments. He has presented at a number of conferences and is one of the national authorities on the development of new programs. 

Rogers also served the national coaching organization through his service as the First Vice President of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association from 2012-2016 and as the Director of Emerging Programs, a committee formed to encourage and develop new field hockey programs throughout the United States, from 2010-2012. He has served as the National Chair of the Honda Collegiate Sports Award Committee and the National All-American Committee and has served on multiple other committees for the organization. 
 
A veteran umpire, Rogers obtained his Level III rating in 2008 and has umpired extensively at both the high school and college levels, including a number of NCAA tournament games. He has been named the Umpire of the Year in Southwest Ohio four times and serves as the rules interpreter for a number of boards. In addition, he has been selected as a Technical Officer for a number of international field hockey tournaments, including the World League 2 and the South American championships. 
 
His playing experience includes being a member USA Masters' program, representing the USA in the Masters' World Cup in both 2014 and 2018. Rogers has also played for a number of clubs, including the London Royals, Cincinnati Centurions, Nashville, Tidewater, and Greenwich Field Hockey Clubs. He has played and umpired at the National Field Hockey Festival in each of the last 21 years.
