Softball
Last Week: The RedHawks (20-21, 7-10 MAC) closed their 2018 home schedule with a Tuesday doubleheader against Wright State and a three-game series against Ohio on Friday and Saturday. Miami swept Wright State by a 5-2 margin in game one and 6-5 in game two, winning in the bottom of the seventh inning (Recap). The RedHawks lost to Ohio on Friday by a 10-4 margin (Recap). Miami and Ohio dueled it out for 23 total innings in Saturday's doubleheader. Ohio took the first game of the day 1-0 in the 11th inning. Miami won the second game by a 5-3 margin in the 12th inning on a walk-off home run from Kat Lee (Recap). This Week: The RedHawks are on the road for a game on Tuesday at Butler and then on Friday and Saturday for a three-game series at Akron.
Baseball
Last Week: Miami (23-13, 9-6 MAC) went 2-2 in four games played this past week. The RedHawks started off with a come-from-behind win on Wednesday at home against Indiana Tech. MU trailed by as many as six runs before coming back to win, 11-10, on a walk-off hit by pitch in the bottom of the 10th (Recap). The Red & White then headed to Northern Illinois for the weekend. The Huskies grabbed game one, 5-2, behind a four-run fourth inning (Recap). Saturday saw Miami fall again as NIU collected a 2-1 win despite a dominant performance on the mound by Zach Spears (Recap). The 'Hawks rallied on Sunday in the series finale, notching a 5-1 win behind a complete game effort on the hill from Gus Graham (Recap). This Week: Miami is on the road to begin the week as it travels to Butler on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. first pitch. The `Hawks are then home for the weekend to host rival Ohio for a three-game series that gets underway on Friday at 5 p.m.
Golf
Last Week: Miami finished ninth at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Redshirt junior Brian Ohr hit a hole in one in his final round as was the RedHawks top finisher, tying for 17th at five-over par. (Recap) This Week: Miami competes in the Mid-American Conference Championship this weekend in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The RedHawks will play two rounds on Friday and follow it up with single rounds on both Saturday and Sunday.
Tennis
Last Week: The RedHawks wrapped up their regular season with two 4-3 road victories, defeating Western Michigan (Recap) on Friday and Toledo (Recap) on Sunday. Senior Nelli Ponomareva paced Miami with wins on both days at number one singles. Freshmen Priyana Kalita and Makenzie Myers also took their singles matches against WMU, while freshman Milana Lysova and junior Emily Struble won against Toledo. With the two wins, Miami closes the regular season at 11-8 (7-1 Mid-American Conference) and finishes second in the conference standings. This Week: The Red and White will be at Ball State for the MAC Tournament. As the two seed, the 'Hawks will have a bye straight to the semifinals on Saturday where they will play the winner of Toledo/Ball State.
