Runtso Invited to World Junior Summer Showcase

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-- USA Hockey announced its list of invitees to the National Junior Evaluation Camp/World Junior Summer Showcase today, and incoming Miami University defenseman Timmy Runtso is among the participants.
The Showcase serves as an evaluation for athletes seeking to make their respective national teams for the 2027 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship that is set for December 26, 2026-January 5, 2027, in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.
Runtso, a native of Playa Vista, Calif., will be a freshman with the RedHawks in 2026-27. He spent last season with the Victoria Royals in the WHL, putting up 44 points (11-33-44) in 68 appearances. He was also named NAHL Central Division Rookie of the Year in 2024-25 after a 27-point season (8-19-27) with the St. Cloud Norsemen.
The 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase, which will also include teams from Canada, Finland and Sweden, will take place from July 26-August 1 at WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ontario. Team practices commence on July 22, with the first games set for July 26.
