Martinez Named MAC Track Runner of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Mid-American Conference announced its track and field athletes of the week today, and Miami's Anton Martinez was named MAC men's track runner of the week.

Martinez, a senior from Lugo, Spain, was the champion of the 3,000m steeplechase at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus with a time of 8:51.22. This time is third in the MAC, fourth in Miami's program history and ranks among the top 100 times nationally.

The track and field team will compete again on Friday, May 8 in Bloomington, Ind., at the Indiana University Billy Hayes Invite.
