Men's Golf Finish Up Round Two of Calusa Cup

NAPLES, Fla. — Five golfers from the Miami University Men's Golf Team competed in round two of the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club today against an elite field of competition that includes No. 2 nationally ranked Virginia and No. 3 Florida. Michael Weber finished the day with the lowest score for the RedHawks, with a bogey-free 69 (-3). The RedHawks head into the third and final round tomorrow in eighth place.

Five golfers from the Miami University Men's Golf Team competed as individuals at the Jewell Individual in Batavia, Ohio, today. Michael Stagnaro is two over par through his first two rounds and sits in eighth place, Dean Upholzer is five over par and tied for 19th, Tyler Anderson is nine over par and tied for 47th, Bric Baird is twelve over par and in 63rd place, and Joseph Canitano is tied for 73rd with a score through two rounds of fifteen over par. The final round of the Jewell Invitational will tee off tomorrow.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Weber (79-69=148) bounced back impressively in his second round, keeping his scorecard free of any bogeys. He finished the day with three birdies on holes three, 15, and 18. Weber climbed the leaderboard and now sits tied for 25th.Â
- Cameron Pero (73-76=149) shot four over par with three birdies, including one on the 18th hole, which he birdied in round one as well. Pero heads into round three tied for 29th overall.Â
- Brett Podobinski (76-77=153) posted a score of five over par in his second round. He is now tied for 36th heading into the final round of play.Â
- Liam Nelson (76-78=154) shot six over par today and is in 37th heading into the final round tomorrow.Â
- Nathan Vonderhaar (79-81=160) shot nine over par today and is currently in 40th heading into the final round tomorrow.Â
