BARK RIVER, Mich.— The RedHawks competed in the first and second rounds of the Island Resort Intercollegiate on Sunday at Sage Run Golf Club. Seven RedHawk golfers took part in the tournament, with two of them competing as individuals. After the first day of play, Miami sits tied for eighth place headed into the final round with a team score of five-over-par.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Liam Nelson (75-69=144) shot three over par in his first round, marking three birdies. Nelson turned it up a notch in his second round, finishing the day with a birdie on eight of his last eleven holes to shoot three under in round two and end the day at even par through two rounds. He heads into the final round of play tied for 22nd.
Bric Baird (75-72=147) shot three over par in his first round, and finished the day with a score of even par in his second round. Baird totaled 4 birdies on the day and sits tied for 44th.
Jack Callahan (74-74=148) finished day one with two scores of 74 posted. Callahan knocked down three birdies in round one and two in his second round. He heads into the final round with a score of four-over-par and is tied for 49th.
After shooting eight over par in round one, Tyler Anderson (80-69=149) soundly found his feet in the second round, posting a nearly clean scorecard and a score of 69. Anderson's only bogey in his second round came on the thirteenth hole, and he posted four birdies. He heads into the final round at five-over-par and tied for 55th.
Joseph Canitano (73-77=150) shot one-over-par in his first round, posting three birdies, and five-over-par in his second round. Canitano ends the day at six-over-par headed into the third and final round and is tied for 60th.
Nathan Vonderhaar (77-74=151) competed as an individual, shooting five-over-par in round one and two-over-par in round two. Vonderhaar ended the day at seven-over-par and in 68th place.
Michael Stagnaro (83-81=164) competed as an individual and shot twenty-over par throughout his two rounds. He finished the day in 80th place.
