Final Results

NASHPORT, Ohio— Miami Men's Golf wrapped up its first tournament of the season Sunday at the Virtues Intercollegiate with five players in the field for the RedHawks and Michael Stagnaro competing as an individual. Sophomore Bric Baird shot a career-best score of 65 (-7) in the first round and followed it with a 68 and a 72 in rounds two and three, respectively. With four players finishing in the top 15 and a total score of 22-under-par, Miami ended the tournament with a strong second-place finish out of 12 total teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Baird (65-68-72=205) concluded an impressive performance in the season opener with an even 72 in his final round. Baird finished the Virtues Intercollegiate at 11 under par and earned a second-place overall finish behind the University of Michigan.
Joseph Canitano (68-70-71=209) capped off his tournament run with a score of 71 in the final round, giving him a three-round score of seven under par. This strong showing earned Canitano a top ten finish, tying for eighth overall.
Liam Nelson (72-70-72=214) shot even par in his final round, concluding the weekend at two under par through three rounds. Nelson's six-birdie performance earned him an twelfth-place finish, tying with teammate Tyler Anderson to start the season.
Tyler Anderson (68-74-72=214) followed up on a strong first day of play yesterday with a score of 72 in his final round. He finished tied for 12th with a three-round score of two under par.
Jack Callahan (76-74-76=226) wrapped up his first tournament as a RedHawk with a third-round score of 76, ending the day with three consecutive birdies. Callahan finished tied for 51st.
Stagnaro (79-77-73=229) competed as an individual and posted his best round of the tournament in the final round with a 73. Stagnaro climbed eight positions in round three to finish tied for 60th.
