RedHawks Conclude Calusa Cup Final Round

NAPLES, Fla. — Five golfers from the Miami University Men's Golf Team wrapped up the final round of the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club today against an elite field of competition that includes No. 2 nationally ranked Virginia and No. 3 Florida. Michael Weber finished the day with the lowest score for the RedHawks, with a 74 (+2). The RedHawks finished the tournament in eighth place and will look ahead to the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on April 11.

Five golfers from the Miami University Men's Golf Team competed as individuals at the Jewell Individual in Batavia, Ohio today. Dean Upholzer and Michael Stagnaro both shot eight over par through their three rounds and finished tied for 18th place, Tyler Anderson shot nine over par through his three rounds and finished tied for 23rd place, Bric Baird shot thirteen over par through his three rounds and finished the tournament tied for 42nd place, and Joseph Canitano finished 24 over par through his three rounds and finished tied for 75th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Weber (79-69-74=222) shot two over par in his third and final round which featured four birdies. Weber finished the tournament with a total score of six over par, concluding the Calusa Cup tied for 27th.
- Cameron Pero (73-76-77=226) shot five over par today, with two consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th holes. Pero ends all three days of play with a score of ten over par, finishing tied for 32nd.
- Brett Podobinski (76-77-78=231) posted a score of six over par in his final round. He finished the tournament in 37th place.
- Liam Nelson (76-78-78=232) shot six over par today with a four birdie round. He finished the tournament in 38th place.
- Nathan Vonderhaar (79-81-76=236) shot four over par today with three birdies, two of them coming consecutively on holes five and six. He finished the Calusa Cup in 40th place.
