RedHawks Sweep Saturday Slate Against Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio– The Miami University softball team secured a dominant doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon over Toledo, winning 14-1 in Game 1 and 9-1 in Game 2. Miami scored seven runs in the seventh inning to blow open the first contest and Angelina Ricciardi threw a no-hitter in game two to complete the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)
- Mckenna Campbell singled and allowed Bailey Manos to score in the top of the first to spot Miami an early 1-0 lead.
- In the top of the second, making the score 3-0, Kari Krueger homered and allowed Leila Mathis to score.
- In the following inning, extending the lead to 5-0, Katy Olive doubled to center field to score Campbell, and Erin Pinter followed with a single to left center, advancing to second on the throw and bringing Olive home.
- The Rockets got on the board in the fourth, making it 5-1.
- In the top of the fifth, Miami added on to make it 6-1, as Mathis doubled to right field, allowing Pinter to score.
- The RedHawks broke the game open in the seventh. Mia Estrello singled up the middle to bring in two runs, scoring Krueger and Mathis to make it 8-1. Keeping it going, Campbell followed with a three-run home run to left center, scoring Danitza Hernandez and Estrello to extend the lead to 11-1. A Pinter RBI made it 12-1 and then Krueger singled to right to make it 13-1.

- Mckenna Campbell went 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs and four RBI.
- Kari Krueger went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs and three RBI.
- Presley Hosick pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits, one earned run, and three walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2)
- Getting things started early in the first, Miami took a 1-0 lead after Campbell drew an RBI walk, allowing Manos to score. Shortly after, Dieudonne added a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in Estrello and extend the lead to 2-0.
- Toledo answered in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on a wild pitch to score and make it 2-1.
- In the second, Miami added on to make it 3-1, as Krueger homered to left field.
- The RedHawks continued to build their lead in the third inning. Pinter singled to bring in Hernandez, followed by a sacrifice fly from Mathis that allowed Dieudonne to score, extending the lead to 5-1.
- In the fourth, Miami broke the game open. Campbell singled to left field to drive in Campbell Beatty, making it 6-1. Later in the inning, Dieudonne delivered a three-run home run to left field, scoring Campbell and Hernandez and extending the lead to 9-1.
- The RedHawks won it in the fifth inning, enacting the run rule, 9-1.

- Erin Pinter went 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI.
- Kari Krueger went 2-for-3 at the plate with one run and one RBI.
- Despite allowing a run, Angelina Ricciardi threw the first no-hitter of her Miami career.
