ON TAP: The Miami women's basketball team looks to put a cap on the best regular season in program history as it travels to face the Ohio Bobcats on Saturday, March 7. The contest is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and be carried live on ESPNU.
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Amber Tretter has 29 double-doubles (third-best in program history) in her career and is a near walking double-double in points (14.6) and rebounds (8.1) this season. She is on pace to become just the second RedHawk in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds and has scored 1,085 career points, which ranks 25th in program history. She has scored in double figures in 24 of 30 games this season.
BALANCED SCORING: Miami has four players averaging double-digits, led by Amber Tretter (14.6 ppg.). She is joined by Amber Scalia (13.6 ppg.), Ilse de Vries (12.9 ppg.) and Tamar Singer (10.9 ppg.). Tretter has led the team in scoring nine times, while the other three have done it six time each this season.
BY THE MARGINS: Miami is currently third in the MAC in scoring (71.3) and first in defense (58.1), which results in a 13.2 point margin of victory, second-best in the conference. The RedHawks are second in the MAC in field goal percentage (45.3%), first in three-point percentage (35.4%) and second in free throw percentage (75.6%). Miami is first in turnover margin (5.2) and second in blocked shots (3.7).
KENT STATE RECAP: For the first time since the 2003-04 season, the Miami University women's basketball team captured the Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship with a 71-52 win over Kent State on Wednesday evening. Amber Tretter recorded 22 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, while Ilse de Vries (18) and Tamar Singer (11) also scored in double figures.

The RedHawks posted 16 bench points in the win over Eastern Michigan, added 18 points against Akron and 14 in the win versus the Golden Flashes. The three games prior, Miami's bench combined for 10 total points (3.3/game).
MAC MOMENTUM: Miami opened conference play at 11-0, the best start in program history before UMass downed the RedHawks 65-64 on Feb. 14. The loss also snapped a 13-game win streak, one shy of the all-time school record, set by the 1982-83 squad.Â
MAKING HISTORY: The 25 wins this season is a new program record, surpassing the 24 wins from the 1981-82 squad. Miami's 16 conference wins rank second-best. The RedHawks could match the program record for conference wins by finishing 17-1.
DOMINATION: The RedHawks are not just winning games, winning championships and setting school records ... they are doing it in a dominate way:
• 20 of their 25 wins are by double digits.

In his first year the RedHawks went 9-20 (6-12 MAC) and followed that up with a 19-12 (11-7 MAC) record, the second-best single-season turnaround in program history. This season the RedHawks captured their first regular season championship since the 2003-04 campaign.

Miami has also made 256 triples this season, a new program best (previous high was 233 during the 2007-08 season).
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS: Coach Box has preached defense since the day he has arrived on campus and this year is no different.

She has surpassed 20 points three times this season (none last year) and has led the team in scoring six times in 2025-26 (once all of last year).Â
