Red-Hot RedHawks Face Off With No. 4 WMU

RV Miami carries a four-game winning streak into this week's home series against No. 4 Western Michigan. The RedHawks are 16-8-2 (7-7-2 NCHC) after a sweep at then-No. 20/19 St. Cloud State (2-1 and 3-1 wins). Including a mid-January series againt Omaha (3-0 and 6-2 wins), Miami has now won four consecutive conference games for the first time since the 2016-17 season. The Broncos come in at 19-7-0 (11-5-0 NCHC) and saw their 10-game win streak snapped in a home split with Omaha (5-2 win, 4-1 loss).
This week's games at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena are set for Friday, Feb. 6 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 7 at 6:05 p.m. Miami will recognize its returning alumni during the Saturday night contest. Both games will be broadcast on NCHC.tv, with tape-delayed coverage on ROCK Entertainment Sports Network. Select Gray television affiliates will air Saturday's broadcast live. Greg Waddell (play-by-play), Drew Davis (analyst) and David Ventura (rinskide) have the call.
Matteo Giampa (9-11-20) leads the RedHawks in points. David Deputy (11-5-16) has a team-high 11 goals, just ahead of Maximilion Helgeson (10-8-18). Vladislav Lukashevich (2-16-18) tops Miami in assists. Matteo Drobac is 15-8-2 in net (2.63 GAA, .913 save %).
Giampa and head coach Anthony Noreen met with the media this week to preview the games against the defending national champion Broncos.
