HOW IT HAPPENED
- 8:08 1st (WMU 1-0) | The visitors took a first-period lead when Zach Bade took a pass from Theo Wallberg at the blue line and drove hard to the net, laying a pass off for Garrett Szydlowski to finish in front.
- 1:53 2nd (Miami 1-1) | Miami tied the score early in the second period when Maximilion Helgeson poked the puck away from a scrum along the wall to start a 2-on-1 break and then sent a perfectly timed feed across to Delic on his left. Delic promptly deposited a shot past WMU's Hampton Slukynsky to make it 1-1.
- 1:57 3rd (WMU 2-1) | The Broncos went back on top seconds after a power play expired in the third period, as Liam Valente knocked the puck free to Zach Nehring and Nehring then found Sam Sjolund in the middle of the offensive zone. Drobac knocked down Sjolund's ensuing shot, but the puck still slid across the goal line to give WMU the lead.
- 11:05 3rd (Miami 2-2) | The RedHawks used a 4-on-4 goal to even the game at 2-2 later in the third period. Ilia Morozov grabbed the puck in front of the Miami net and sent a pass all the way to Shaun McEwen at the far blue line to spring a 2-on-1 break. McEwen connected with Deputy racing to the net and Deputy knocked home the equalizer in stride to pull the hosts level.
- 1:40 OT (Miami 3-2) | In the extra session, Deputy broke up a 2-on-1 rush by tipping the puck free and immediately headed the other way up the ice with Delic on his left. Deputy faked a pass and kept the puck himself to fire the game-winner past Slukynsky and set off a celebration inside Cady Arena.
