Deputy Claims NCHC Rookie of the Month Award

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Miami freshman forward David Deputy was named the NCHC Rookie of the Month for January, the conference announced today.
Deputy produced five goals last month, including a hat trick in a Jan. 17 win over Omaha, to help Miami go 5-1 in January. He was named the NCHC Rookie of the Week on Jan. 19 for the third time this season. Deputy, who tallied two game-winners in January, also lit the lamp in overtime in Miami's 2-1 triumph at Arizona State on Jan. 9. He was credited with a team-high 23 shots on goal in January. Deputy is the second RedHawk to win Rookie of the Month this season, joining teammate Kocha Delic (October).
Deputy and (RV) Miami are back in action this weekend for a home series against No. 4 Western Michigan. Puck drop on Friday, Feb. 6 is set for 7:05 p.m.
